Universal Credit is a benefit payment designed to help people who are on a low income or out of work. If you have questions about Universal Credit or need to make a claim, you can contact Jobcentre Plus by telephone. Here are the different telephone numbers you can use to get in touch:
Universal Credit Telephone Numbers
When you call any of these numbers, you’ll be asked to provide some basic information about yourself, such as your name, National Insurance number, and date of birth. You may also be asked to provide details about your income, savings, and housing costs. This information will help the Jobcentre Plus representative determine whether you’re eligible for Universal Credit and how much you may be entitled to.
If you already have an online Universal Credit account, you can also use the messaging service within your account to contact Jobcentre Plus. This service is available Monday to Friday between 8:00 am and 6:00 pm. You can expect to receive a reply within 2 working days.
It’s important to note that the Universal Credit helpline can be very busy, especially during peak times. You may need to wait on hold for several minutes before you’re able to speak to a representative. If you’re unable to get through, you may want to try calling at a different time of day or using the messaging service within your online account instead.
